Haute Carlin Couture

This is like a combination of two great and fearsome animated enemies to animals - Cruella de Vil and Elmyra Duff from Tiny Toons. Or like a female version of Tarzan who was raised by pugs.

This is how I would do pug high fashion. Just have the designer drape a bunch of wiggly cute pugs and pug puppies on me. Then when no one's looking I run away and keep all the cute pugs for myself. I'm beginning to think I have so far crossed the crazy pug lady line I can't even see it behind me anymore.

Surroundings

There have been so many times I've had to pull away Sunny quickly while she's sniffing the ground or another dog's butt to avoid getting her peed on. Sometimes she's so clueless she needs my help.

Back To School

At this rate there won't be any books or papers left in the pug school!

Beat Me To The Punch

This is the idiom I mangled the worst and I did this at work too! I started to say this idiom but at the same time my brain was shouting, "Whoa! Stop! You don't know how this sentence ends!" And yet I stumbled forward and mumbled, "Oh, you beat me to the...uh...the um...time...frame? Yeah, not even close. And this was in a voice message so the recipient of this horrible message can replay it over and over again while laughing and mocking my stupidity.

This is a perfect example of how I keep forgetting idioms and yet as I'm talking my tongue is trying to let them slip out but my brain just isn't fast enough to stop it.

This idiom is weird anyways. Why would you want to beat me to the punch? Unless we're talking about fruit punch. With some chips and cookies.

Putting Your Foot In Your Mouth

And now I'm back to doing idioms. As in my conversations with other people, I can never resist an idiom that pops into my head. But unlike in my conversations, I usually don't mangle the idioms in my drawings (mostly because I Google them beforehand to make sure I got them right).

So here's putting your foot in your mouth, which I do all too often, but slightly less as I get older and try to think more before speaking. Sunny also puts her foot (paw) in her mouth all the time. Literally. These late summer allergies have her licking her paws a lot.

A Pug's Least Favorite Things

After seeing the popularity of my recent posts, A Pug's Favorite Things and A Pug's Favorite Things, Part II, I thought it might be fun to do a least favorite things version.  It's amazing how so many pugs like the same things so I'm curious to see if other pugs out there hate the same things that Sunny hates.

A Pug's Favorite Things, Part II

After yesterday's "A Pug's Favorite Things" I had a bunch of other ideas that I couldn't fit into my first drawing and so I decided to do a sequel!  I like thinking of the small little things that Sunny might love because that's one thing I try to do myself.  When I'm stressed or down, I try to focus on the little things in my life that bring me a bit of happiness or amusement.  Although I imagine there's not that much stress or sadness in Sunny's life since she lives such a pampered, lazy life!

I tried to fit in all my remaining ideas here, so there probably won't be another one after this unless I think up more of them and enough to fill in a page.  But until then, enjoy peeking into the inner thoughts of a pug!

A Pug's Favorite Things

These are a few of my pug's favorite things...

Of course since Sunny can't actually communicate with me in English (let alone human), these are things that I believe she loves based on her behavior and what I would enjoy if I were a pug (well, except for the kick after poops - I think it has to do with scratching in her scent and stuff but I swear she gets so excited about it and then has an extra bounce in her trot afterwards).  There were a few other ideas I had that I couldn't squeeze in so check out my sequel to this in "A Pug's Favorite Things, Part II".

A Pug's Song

There's nothing more futile than trying to stop a pug when he/she has the need to sing. And there's nothing cuter than a pug's pre-bark face with a tucked lip and then subsequent stiff legged hopping, head throwing back howl-barks. Their muzzles just make it look so much funnier!

Pug Emotions

Since pugs always have adorably sad and puzzled facial expressions, the best way to tell how they're feeling is through their body language. And by body I really mean tail.

Their tails can be so wonderfully expressive and cute!

Pug Penguin

I think a pug's "fluff" (aka fat) protects it well from cold weather. Much like a penguin! While pugs remind me of seals when they are sitting normally or laying down, they always remind me of penguins when they sit up on their back legs!

Little Paws of Pain

Sunny loves climbing on top of me for hugs and kisses, and crawling all over me to wake me up.  I love it but I also find it painful at times.  I joke that she has little paws of pain because she has such small little paws supporting a whole lot of weight.  The worst is when most of her weight gets concentrated into just two of her paws - ouch!  If only I could harness her paws into a shiatsu-like massage, but unfortunately it's just plain painful.  Lucky she's so cute and I love her pug hugs and kisses!

Pug Weightlifting

Whenever I have to pick up Sunny or carry her around I always think about how she's so heavy I could use her for some weightlifting.  You know, just pick her up and do some squats or overhead presses.  But the downside is pugs are so sloppy and slippery with all their loose skin so that probably wouldn't be the best idea.

Humpty Dumpty

Here's a pug version of Humpty Dumpty.  I also added my own interpretation to "King's men" and "King's horses."  They're having problems putting Humpty Dumpty's clothes back on (silly Elvis, the hat doesn't go on the paw!).  Thank you, thank you very much.

This Little Puggy...

This little puggy went to market.
This little puggy stayed home.
This little puggy had roast beef.
This little puggy had none.
And this little puggy went wee wee wee all the way home!

That's Enough Sleep For You

Recently Sunny has been waking me up earlier and I am not happy about it. One of her favorite methods for waking me up is sitting on my head. Of course the effort to move on top of my head usually causes her to pass some gas. Lucky me.
