Pug Window Washers
Here's another occupation pugs should avoid - window washers. They will quickly get to work on dirtying up your windows with licks, paw prints, nose prints, butt prints, snot, and eye boogers. Sunny doesn't lick my windows much but she definitely leaves a lot of nose and butt prints, snot and eye boogers!

Leap Over Wednesday!
Happy hump day everyone! Can't wait to leap over this Wednesday and be halfway through the week. I worry for this lil pug though. She's a bit heavy and doesn't look like she'll clear the W.

Pug O'Clock
What time is it? It's pug o'clock! I thought about doing numbers after the pug alphabet but decided not to since a lot of the poses would be the same. But today I thought of a clock and thought that would be a fun way to do pug numbers. This is one of the times that I regret working in a small moleskine sketchbook! So the pugs came out a bit blurry and squished. Argh! Also, notice that the second/minute markers are pug tails.
Rock around the pug clock!

Pink and Purple Pugs
Pink and purple pugs are feeling a bit different today.
I have had these colored pens sitting around for a while and never use them so I thought this would be a good time to whoop them out. Unfortunately their not as inky/intense as I would like and I had to go over my lines a bit and then clean some of the wording. And since I do most of my drawings in moleskine sketchbooks and tweak the coloring afterwards the pink looks wonderfully bright but the purple looks a bit bluish. Ah well, live and learn!

Pensive Pug
Pensive pug is deep in thought. I'm guessing he's thinking about what he's going to eat next. Or where he should take his next nap.

Penitent Pug
I'm always a fan of alliteration and so I thought I'd do a few drawings of various P adjectives. Here we have a penitent pug. She's very sorry for having eaten and pooped in my shoes. Look at her sad face and guilty tail wag. It's ok pug. You're lucky you're so cute!

Faded
This is for this week's Illustration Friday topic, "faded." Sometimes I get sad when I discover a new white whisker on Sunny or notice her slowing down a bit. I've only had her for about 2 years and yet she's aging so quickly already! Ah youth. It fades for all of us.

50's Pug
I have been busy at work and discovered a new addictive game so I haven't been drawing as much. So here's a quick doodle of a 50's pug in her poodle (or pug skirt).

Authentic Antler Chews
Sunny has horrible teeth, which I try to brush unsuccessfully. I had heard that antler chews are supposed to be good for their teeth so I got one for Sunny which she fiercely loved for 5 minutes and then ignored. Oh wells.
Anyways I was doing research on these antler chews and learned that they're from deer or elks that naturally shed their antlers (I learn something new every day), and then the image of impatient pugs gnawing on antlers still attached to a deer or elk popped into my head.
I briefly considered drawing this with bully sticks but wanted to keep this drawing PG. You know what those are made out of, right?? If not then google it and prepare to be grossed out. Then you will have learned something new today too!

Monday Blues
Monday mornings are always so hard! Even Sunny is a bit more sluggish and slow to start. This morning she kept sleeping as I washed up and I finally had to wake her up and plop her on the floor. She promptly scurried to one of her beds to continue dozing. Sigh. At least we have the long weekend took forward to.

Pug Rinse Cycle
You know how once you start your dishwasher you can't open it? It's because as soon as you close it the dishwasher pugs arrive and lick your dishes clean. They do a very thorough job! You probably should have suspected something with the "pug rinse" cycle button.
This is a little messier than I would have liked. I think I'm getting too reliant on pencil sketches before ink work which is good for complicated or more precise drawings but erasing the pencil work is a pain and it lightens my ink. And I don't want to have to rely on pencil prep work for everything, so I better make sure to mix it up so I don't get out of practice!

Playing The Waiting Game
A very confused pug is playing the waiting game.
I feel like I haven't drawn Sunny and her bunny in a while, so here they are playing chess (or according to Sunny, gin-chess).

Once Upon A Pug Dream
I have been impatiently awaiting hopefully good news and kept thinking of that Disney song One Day My Prince Will Come and that scene in Sleeping Beauty when Princess Aurora dances with the forest creatures dressed up to resemble a man. So here's my pug and Funaek version. Of course I later realized that the song is from Snow White and not Sleeping Beauty. D'oh! Oh well. I always had a soft spot for Sleeping Beauty because I thought that Princess Aurora had the best hair out of all the Disney princesses!
Wednesday Pugs
Happy Wednesday (hump day)! Even though it's Wednesday, of course at least one of the pugs is still snoozing and the one on the very right is eagerly awaiting Thursday.
My pen started to die on me so the lettering here is a bit sloppier than I'd like.

First Love
I was approached recently by Karys, an Australian girl living in London and working as a photography assistant and freelance writer/editor, to contribute to her blog, Something Fine, a project based around the idea of first love. I was happy to participate but I warned Karys that my contribution would be pug-based since that's how we roll here at Bah Humpug!
My mind immediately jumped to my first pug, Cookie. I had joint custody of her with my sister when I was in high school. She was the sweetest and gentlest pug and, for a random fact, she had the softest ears EVER. Just because I have Sunny now doesn't mean that Cookie is forgotten, but it also doesn't mean that I loved Cookie more than I love Sunny now because she was my first pug. I will always love and miss Cookie, but there's plenty of room in my heart for both Cookie and Sunny (and any future pugs in my life...).

Suspicious Pug
Hmmm. I think this pug looks a little suspicious. I think we have a cookie monster here. Then again we should all know better than to leave a plate of food unattended near a pug.
