Random Things I Don't Love About My Pug

And with the sweet, comes the sour. Here are a few things about Sunny that I DON'T love.

Chicken Dance

Here's a pug showing you the complicated moves for the chicken dance.  I was running out of dances to draw and Boodapug suggested the chicken dance!  While there aren't really words to go with this I figured I could just do the "nanananananana" sounds for the song part.

Pool Pugs

I know that there are some pugs that enjoy the water, but all the pugs I've personally known hate the water, whether it's falling from the sky or on the ground.  So unlike the retrievers that are enjoying the water, these three pugs make very poor swimmers since they refuse to jump into the pool (even with goggles and life vests).

Pug Window Washers

Here's another occupation pugs should avoid - window washers. They will quickly get to work on dirtying up your windows with licks, paw prints, nose prints, butt prints, snot, and eye boogers. Sunny doesn't lick my windows much but she definitely leaves a lot of nose and butt prints, snot and eye boogers!

Pug Roller Derby

My pug already does enough slipping and rolling around on her own four feet, so I can only imagine the hot mess that would be pug roller derby.  It would be like a train wreck you can't help but stare at, especially since the pugs would look super cute rolling around.

Pug Massager

I think that pug massagers would just take advantage of a supine human body and take naps between the legs and on the head/neck.  And if they even tried to do their job I imagine it would be like a painful deep tissue massage.  My pug is pretty dense but has such small paws that when she steps on me or climbs on me it's like all of her body weight is concentrated in her tiny little paws.  Hmm, maybe you should steer clear of any pug massagers.

Pug Chef

Never ever hire a pug as a chef! They will completely empty your fridge and pantry right away. All you'll be left with is lettuce. I don't know if it's just my pug but she will eat almost anything but she consistently refuses lettuce (iceberg or romaine). I got a lot of requests for a pug chef so here you go and bon appetite!

Pug Gardeners

With all their digging, pooping, peeing, and scratching, I don't think pugs would make very good gardeners.  In fact, I think they would completely destroy your nice lawn and garden.

Pug DJ

This pug career was suggested by Scoutie Pug.  So Scoutie, this pug DJ dedicates this next song to you!  Today has been a very musical day for pugs here!

Pianist Pug

Look at how into the music this pianist pug is.  Although given the paw span of a pug, the music probably isn't any good.  Poor lil pug.  Hmm, maybe another career...

Pug Chauffeurs

During today's long run I tried thinking of some new pug drawing ideas and thought it would be fun to do some pug jobs/careers.  I thought of so many great ideas but once I got home all I could remember was pug chauffeur.  Ah well, good enough.  So here's a drawing of some pugs doing a very poor job of driving my car.  But they sure look darn cute driving recklessly!

Because of my inability to draw straight and do perspective properly, coupled with my poor ability to draw cars or anything mechanical, I did a pencil sketch first to make sure I got the dimensions as best as I could.  But I hate doing pencil drawings first.  I mean I like that I can do a more precise drawing, but after I go over it in pen, whenever I erase the pencil marks, it picks up a lot of the ink.  This happens no matter what pen or ink I'm using and is such a pain!  I then have to go over all the lines again which is just creating another opportunity to mess up.  Does anyone have any advice on how to prevent this?  Maybe it's the eraser I'm using?  I have one of those gray kneaded erasers.  I like the spontaneous looseness of just starting with pen and seeing how it goes, but it sucks when I mess up one part of it and have to start over.

Anyways, time to think of the next pug job.  Hmm.....
