Now that we're approaching September, Sunny, Rosy, and I are really looking forward to the fall. Less bugs, cooler air, coats with pockets, comfort food, pumpkin everything, and holiday fun! But right now we're suffering the worst of both summer and fall - hot and humid weather, but with shorter days. Grrrrr.
Sunny and Rosy have been working all summer developing some nice and fluffy neck/face/shoulder rolls so that they have their built in scarves ready for the colder weather in the fall. See their glorious rolls/scarves?!

No Poopin' in the Rain
The recent combination of cold weather, rain, and fallen leaves everywhere has been making for some really unpleasant walks. Even with a yard of their own Sunny and Rosy continue to hold pee and poop strikes. They're actually worse in their yard than when I take them on walks! And I miss having a hallway for the girls to wipe their wet and dirty paws on before entering our home. How I wish for a good mud room!
One upside to the leaves everywhere is there have been times when I'm walking the girls and I turn to look at Sunny and she has a leaf on her ever present tongue. But it always manages to blow away before I can get my phone out for a picture! Leaf conspiracy.

Bah Humpug 2014 Calendar
I did my first calendar for my Zazzle store (Bah Humpug Zazzle Store)! The 2014 calendar has all new drawings, except for the cover and back which are my Hoodie Pugs and Pug Bundles/Burritos drawings. You can see the Bah Humpug 2014 calendar by clicking the link *here* and below are a few of the months' drawings.
April - all this rain makes for very sad pugs.
June - These bathing beauties are ready for swimsuit season.
July - It's very important for pugs to stay cool during the hot summer days.
The calendar is generally non-denominational. I'm also updating the store to include some of these monthly drawings on other items. And if you use the code 2014CALENDAR you can get 30% off all calendars through October 31, 2013!

Pug Summer Days
Now that the summer days have rolled in and July is just around the corner, Sunny is showing Rosy the typical summer routine here. Pugs especially are very sensitive to heat, so I make sure that we all stay as cool as possible. I think summer isn't really the girls' favorite season, but there is the prospect of getting some delicious table scraps from summer bbqs so that might outweigh all the heat and humidity! Hope everyone is staying cool this summer!

Autumn
Sunny and I are both relieved that the temperatures have been dropping here and are looking forward to fall! But please no more severe thunderstorms with tornado warnings. Aren't tornadoes supposed to only be in Kansas and Texas? (All of my weather knowledge comes from tv (e.g, Texas - King of the Hill) and movies (e.g, Kansas - The Wizard of Oz).

March - Spring is Coming!
Never fails. Each year as spring approaches there's that one beautiful sunny day as the weather warms up that I'm punched in the face by the smell of fertilizer everywhere. I hate that smell. Sunny, on the other hand, loves it.

January - Snowpug (not)
My lil pug was very resistant to going out in the snow last night and I had to pick her up and carry her to the grassy area (which was also covered in snow). And she's not exactly a lightweight so carrying her isn't a walk in the park. She then stood in the snow for a really long time and then reluctantly peed. Argh! Hopefully we won't get too much snow this winter...

October - That's a leaf, not a carrot
Pug and bunny are not the brightest bulbs on the tree and are reaching for the orange leaf, thinking it's a carrot. First, that's not a carrot. Second, they're not even close to reaching it! Sheesh! It seems like with the warm and rainy fall the leaves have stayed green for longer than usual, but recently we've started to see some foliage finally. I am testing out some different methods of using the gouache and had fun with this one, using lots of layers and dripping paint.

September
Pre-pug, I enjoyed a good rainy day every now and then, but this past week was so rainy and cloudy I almost forgot what it felt like to see the sun. And having a dog in this weather just plain ol sucks. The ground could never dry since it rained nonstop and the sun was never out and so my apartment was filled with muddy paw prints and stunk like wet pug (which is worse than wet dog because pugs have such strong natural odors). I feel like September is when the rain picks up a bit, and the sun and humidity comes and goes. This is when I feel a bit torn in that I can't wait for the humid sticky summer to end, but I'm kinda sad the summer fun is coming to an end. I blame the years of school calendars for this feeling each September. But at least we have the fall to look forward to - I do love the fall!

August
Most days in August I step outside my apartment building and feel like I'm walking in hot water. So freakin humid. I'm ready for fall now.
