Halloween Costume Tip

Sunny and Rosy know what's the most important thing about Halloween - THE TREATS.

I've never been a fan of "sexy" Halloween costumes.  They often look ridiculous and uncomfortable.  And I'm all about comfort and what will let me eat as much as I want without a button or seam bursting.

My all-time favorite (and most comfortable) Halloween costume was when I dressed up as a Never Nude.  If you don't know what that is, Google "Arrested Development" "Tobias Funke" and "Never Nude."  I wore a Never Nude t-shirt (basically a regular white t-shirt with a Never Nude logo and motto that my friend got for me as a joke present) and cut-off denim shorts with sweatpants over them.  When I entered the party, I took off my coat and sweatpants.  This was during peak Arrested Development popularity and yet only one person at the party got what I was.  We were in a group chatting when he stopped talking and shouted out, "Are you a Never Nude?!  That's awesome!"

I hope that you all enjoy your Halloween, getting dressed up and going trick-or-treating or to parties, but remember the most important part of this holiday is to eat as much candy and treats as you can possibly stuff your face with.

Love Pugs

When I first brought Rosy home and for the year that followed, I was so worried that Sunny and Rosy would never bond and that Sunny hated that I brought this hyper, crazed, drumstick-obsessed hunchback pug home. Since then, they've really bonded and I know I made the right choice in getting a second pug. But to me it always seems as though Rosy loves Sunny more than Sunny loves Rosy.

Lately I've been spying on the girls through an app called Camiocam and I was surprised to find that Sunny is almost always the snuggle aggressor! They have plenty of beds to choose from and a big ol couch with blankets, but Sunny always chooses to squeeze onto the same tiny bed as Rosy. Maybe she likes the extra body warmth, but I think the truth is that Sunny looooooves Rosy.

Santa and His Reinpugs

This is my favorite time of the year! I've never really decorated my own place or gotten a tree since I always celebrate at my parents' and sister's places and I never felt the urge to do anything with my apartment. I'm known in my family as the "Holiday Nazi" and yet I'm also extremely lazy and never really cared about how my apartments looked.   Now that I have a house to call my own I've been slowly doing more, starting with my first Christmas tree (artificial, but hey, baby steps), lights and stockings. So despite all the stress of the season, family dramas, and work demands, I'm just sticking cotton in my ears and singing falalalala! So in the spirit of the season, here are some reinpugs guiding Santa's sleigh. I'm sure his bag is filled with tons of toys and treats for good lil boy dogs and girl dogs!

Happy Love Your Pet Day!

I just found out that today, February 20th,is Love Your Pet Day! So everyone give your pet an extra hug and kiss because there's nothing better than the unconditional love of your pet!

Happy Valentine's Day

To be perfectly honest, I've never been a big fan of Valentine's Day. But at least it provides a reason to draw some lovey dovey pugs!  Hope everyone has a happy Valentine's Day!

How Much Do You Love Me?

Here's another Valentine's Day themed drawing I did that I never uploaded into my store. I was supposed to add text and I was going to do a few of these "I love you more than..." in rows. Instead I forgot about this one so I added some text using one of my phone's apps. I'll do a proper version of this for my store soon.

Happy new year! Hope everyone had a happy holiday season! Tomorrow I go back to work :( and have a rough first quarter to look forward to. But hopefully the rest of the year will be great!

Happy Halloween! Sunny and Rosy hope everyone has a great Halloween with lots of treats! And they want to remind everyone that while your dog can't have any chocolate, there are lots of other kinds of treats you can give them (their current favorites are Primal Pet Food's liver treats that BarkBox introduced to us recently). Who says only humans should get treats today???

I didn't get costumes for the girls, but I did whoop out Sunny's old koala hat!

They both hated wearing it. I managed to get them to sit still for a couple seconds and then they would start rubbing their head to pull it off. When I put it on Sunny, Rosy got crazy excited and wouldn't stop harassing her. But then it was Rosy's turn haha!

Bah Humpug 2014 Calendar

I did my first calendar for my Zazzle store (Bah Humpug Zazzle Store)! The 2014 calendar has all new drawings, except for the cover and back which are my Hoodie Pugs and Pug Bundles/Burritos drawings. April - all this rain makes for very sad pugs.

June - These bathing beauties are ready for swimsuit season.

July - It's very important for pugs to stay cool during the hot summer days.

September - Back to school pugs!

Halloween Cards

It's a little early for Halloween drawings, but I did a few for cards in my Zazzle store and so wanted to do a post about them. 

The first one below is a play on the black cat with the arched back image. I wish I could do more black pug drawings but I need color to do it properly (e.g., markers, paint) and usually I just have my moleskine and pen with me.

I did a drawing of this trio a while ago ("Scary" Monster Pugs) but the drawing wasn't the best quality and so I wanted to update it this year. Below we have a werepug, a ghost pug, and a vampug!

And last, I did a more unconventional type of card with some pug specific humor. Pugs will do anything for food but if they can do it with minimal effort they will!  The first image is on the front and the second image is inside.

Jingle Pugs

I bet all pets must dread the period from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Too many excuses to dress them up in crazy silly outfits! These jingle pugs are not happy with all their bells. Come on pugs, tis the season to be jolly!

Frosty The Snowpug

I've got Christmas and holidays on the brain.  I figure since my blog is named "Bah Humpug" I might as well go bananas and do a bunch of holiday-themed drawings for the rest of this month.  So here's Frosty the Snowpug, with a corncob pipe and two eyes and a button nose made out of coal!

Mistletoe

Sometimes Sunny and Rosy have a love/hate relationship. I think Sunny especially has mixed feelings about the newbie. Sometime not even mistletoe can help.
