Gummi Pugs

Gummi Pugs!  Bouncing here and there and everywhere!

My recent Cabbage Patch Pugs drawing had me feeling nostalgic for things from my childhood, so here's Gummi Bears, pug-style.

Hansel & Gretel (Pug Version)

If Hansel and Gretel had been pugs, then the story would've been pretty short.  They would come across the witch's candy house and they would have eaten the entire house down to the ground.  No oven for the witch to try to cook them in.  Then, food coma.  The end.  

Cabbage Patch Pugs

Growing up I was very anti-doll and very pro-stuffed animals. I never got the appeal of hard, uncomfortable dolls. And even though Cabbage Patch Kids tried to find a happy medium, I couldn't get past the round, big, and hard heads. My sister's especially freaked me out because it was supposed to have a pacifier in its mouth but after that got lost the doll would just stare at us with puckered lips.

Anyways, wouldn't you much rather find a warm, furry, fat pug in a head of cabbage instead of a doll?!

What's That?!

I don't know if all pugs do this but anytime my pug sees another dog or car that she really likes or is fascinated by she will freeze with one paw in the air. Almost like she's pointing at it like a pointer. With a small nudge she'll go from frozen to racing like crazy to the object of her fascination. Weirdo pug.

Happy Hug Your Dog Day!

Today is hug your dog day! I'm totally serious. Look it up! So go forth and hug your dog (more than your usual daily hugs).

True story: On my first car I had a license plate frame that said "Hug a Pug." I think it was a gift from my family but I can't remember. Anyways that's how I rolled all through high school. Oooh yeeeeah.

Pugs Don't Like Computers

Mondays are always a little rough so here's a second doodle. This just poured out of my pen during lunch.

Octopug

It's an octopus. No, it's a pug. NO. It's an octopug! I got this idea randomly in my head and couldn't shake it. I think I can do a better version with more planning and rough drafts but this was a fun one to crank out quickly. Ah now there's more room in my brain for new crazy pug ideas...

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter weekend!  I wanted to do a drawing for Easter, and I honestly tried to think of a less crass idea, but this image just stuck in my head and I couldn't get it out!  I also did an Easter themed drawing for one of my idioms (Don't Put All Your Eggs in One Basket).  Hope everyone has a great weekend!

When Pugs Fly

You know that saying, "when pigs fly"? How much awesomer would it be if it were when pugs fly? Just replace the "i" with a "u"! If that ever happened in real life I would so be out there with the largest net I could find and capture as many flying pugs as I could!

Oh and because this is also for this week's Illustration Friday theme (vocal), I added some pug sound effects (which interestingly is probably very similar to the noises pigs make).

Finally Finished The Pug Alphabet!

Finally finished the pug alphabet! Sunny is pooped from all the modeling she did for the alphabet and is passed out with her bunny. More adventures to come!

Here's the full pug alphabet!  I really enjoyed doing this series - it was a lot of fun!  One day I might clean this up and do a neater and more consistent job of all the drawings and lettering.  I'm also still trying to find the right mix of scanning and editing.  So let's go through the pug alphabet!
