A or B?

So I'm working on something for a proposal and was hoping to get some feedback from everyone. I originally did the drawing in color but my agent thinks just pen (like Shel Silverstein) might be better. The question is which rough sketch do you like better? A - just the outlines; or B - with a little bit of shading?
A
Or B?
And here's the color version in case you were wondering.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

  1. I know I like A or the color version best :) Agent/Proposal - stilettos (and the SousPug has paws) crossed that all goes well!!

  2. I love the color, but I'll bow to your agent's superior knowledge. That said, I choose A.

  3. I like the choice of black & white, because there is more of a focus on the pug--it looks less...glossy and "perfect" in b&w which is charming. The hatch-mark shading, seems to compete with the pug face for some reason. Your contours and composition are always engaging and lovely, so I don't think the need is there for the additional shading on the clothing. BTW, I saw your store, I can't wait to get a mug! Best!

  5. I like A.
Your artwork has a simplicity that is very appealing.
Of course the odd coloured one is a real treat as well.

  6. I'd chime in for A as well, because it was the one that caused me to look at the dog and the girl's faces the most. The others were more "distracting."

  7. A, because the pug 'pops' more, as people have already mentioned. But I love all your work!

  10. I like A better, unless they're supposed to be in the dark. The shading makes it look like they're in a dark room or something. :)

  11. I like A for b&w, but I like the color best of all. Have you considered illustrating a kid's book? I would LOVE to see that! Thanks for sharing your art and puggies with us!
